Just got an Oculus Quest 2. Can't wait to learn a bit more about what goes into making you feel like you're in the middle of the action. This might be a stretch, but has anyone used an Oculus to work in Paraview or other data visualization software?

I also just got an Oculus Quest 2 and it's fun to use so far. One thing I've noticed in a game I downloaded is that the imagery is pretty low-resolution, like similar to what we would have seen on PC or console games 15 years ago. I'm wondering if that's a problem of funding (i.e., if there were as many Oculus users as Playstation users, then there would be console-quality games on VR headsets today), or if it is a problem of the current technology not being able to support resolution above a certain threshold.

How's the AR look-through mode from Oculus Quest 2? I don't own the device but would love to buy one if it has good AR experiences. When in AR mode, they could probably scale up the resolution because they just need to stream the scene from the camera to the screen, and have GPU to render a small piece of overlay in high-resolution.

I didn't realize the Oculus Quest 2 could be used for AR, although it makes sense! The stitching of the different cameras on the outside cause a bit of distortion though in different areas of the visual field.
