An interesting fact about the human eye is that its equivalent resolution is 576 megapixels which is a massive bandwidth hence why the eyes are so close to the brain

@sman54 It's really interesting to think about why after thousands of years of revolution, the human brain is still located on the top of the body, which is pretty vulnerable to attacks and definitely lagged the reaction speed of our arms and legs. It seems that having a high viewpoint is worth all the other sacrifices.

Latency and bandwidth matter. it takes a while for a signal to get from your brain to your toe. It seems like the head is pretty good place for eyes and ears, and you probably want your processing right next to your critical components of perception. (and a wide datapipe between your sensors and your processing.
