What is the advantage of using Bernstein basis over higher-order polynomials? Is it better due to lower number of parameters perhaps?

Why is bernstein basis an explicit representation? Is it because we can compute the y coordinate of any given x in this example?

This is so interesting! I reminds me a bit of fourier transforms. "how much of each curve" we want etc.
